The life story of David Copperfield, born after the death of his father and subsequently at odds with his stepfather Murdstone, David is sent away to boarding school. At a later age he is forced to go to London to work at a wine merchants, where circumstances arise which provide a new opportunity to complete his education and start a career of writing. In this novel we meet two of Charles Dickens' most colourful characters, Mr. Micawber and Uriah Heep. It is claimed to be Charles Dickens' personal favourite and is based on events in Dickens' own life.
