Jazz (short for Jasmine) and her parents have just relocated from Sydney to Brighton because her dad is pursuing a career as a music producer.

Jazz struggles to adjust: Brighton’s beaches are rocky, the water is cold, and there’s no surfboard in sight — her passion for surfing seems in jeopardy.

At a family dinner in London, her older cousin Amber suggests she forms her own “Moonlight Dreamers” group — a secret society of like-minded friends, just as Amber did.

Initially hesitant, Jazz leaves postcards inviting others to join. She eventually brings together Allegra, Hope, Portia, and herself. Despite their differences, they become close friends who support and help each other pursue their dreams.
