Silas Marner is George Eliot's shortest and most beloved novel, set in the rural English village of Raveloe. The story follows Silas Marner, a handloom linen weaver unjustly exiled from his religious community. Living in isolation, Marner becomes obsessed with hoarding gold. However, his life takes a transformative turn when an orphaned child, Eppie, enters his life. Eppie's arrival restores Marner's humanity and capacity for love, leading to a journey of redemption and community reintegration. The novel explores themes of sin, repentance, and the redemptive power of love in a vanished rural world
