Set in September 1939, right as World War II begins, Dulcie Treadwell is heartbroken after her American broadcast-host boyfriend leaves for Berlin. She takes a job at Bletchley Park (the British code-breaking centre) where she must help crack Enigma codes—and contend with jealousy, rivals and her own emotional turmoil.
