Decades later, her middle sister Lucy remains in the dilapidated house. Before she dies, Lucy leaves the home and a memoir to her grandniece Justine. Seeking refuge from her troubled past and manipulative boyfriend, Justine moves there with her daughters—and the past starts unraveling. As winter sets in, and secrets surface, Justine must confront her family's haunting history to protect her children from repeating tragedy.
