The Penderwicks follows the summer adventures of four sisters—Rosalind, Skye, Jane, and Batty—and their dog, Hound, as they holiday with their absent-minded father at the sprawling Arundel estate. The sisters each bring a unique personality to the tale: responsible Rosalind; feisty Skye; dreamy, aspiring Jane; and shy Batty, never without her butterfly wings. As they explore the estate's gardens and attic, they befriend a boy named Jeffrey, leading to chaotic, heartwarming escapades—though his stern mother Mrs. Tifton is always lurking.
