A historical saga set in 1915 during World War I in the north of England. Three women—Anne, Elsie, and Hetty—come together to work in a toffee factory. Anne is efficient and hides a painful secret, Elsie is impulsive and finds romance in dangerous ways, and Hetty longs for stability and love while her fiancé is away at war. Their shared experiences in the factory forge deep bonds, but also test loyalties as war, love, ambition, and heartbreak converge. As the conflict intensifies, the women navigate changing roles, social pressures, and personal transformation.
