In Then, Jewish orphan Felix and his childhood friend Zelda are on the run during the Nazi occupation of Poland.
 
They escape from a train headed to a concentration camp, but danger remains everywhere: Felix carries a physical trait that marks him as Jewish, and he knows that discovery could mean death. 

When a kind woman offers them shelter, Felix and Zelda must navigate safety and fear, torn between staying hidden and moving on.
 
Felix wrestles with a heartbreaking promise he made to Zelda—to never leave her—while confronting the harsh realities of war.
