a vain emperor obsessed with his appearance is deceived by two swindlers who claim to make invisible clothes visible only to the wise. Pretending to see the nonexistent garments, the emperor parades through the city, until a child innocently points out that he is wearing nothing at all. The story humorously critiques vanity and the fear of speaking the truth.
