Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats is a playful and witty collection of 15 light verse poems by Nobel Prize-winning poet T. S. Eliot, originally written in the 1930s. The poems personify various cat characters, each with unique quirks, habits, and mysterious behaviors. These poems were initially intended for Eliot’s godchildren and later gained wide popularity, especially after being adapted into the hit musical Cats by Andrew Lloyd Webber.
